Colonial house plans can be one or two story. Some examples incorporate one story wings on the left and right of the two story design. This is one of the oldest styles of architecture in America, dating back to the early 1600's. Several sub-styles under the colonial house style includes Dutch, French colonial, Spanish colonial, Georgian, Adam (Federal), and Early Classical Revival.
