House plans of the Gothic Revival era. Gothic style architecture was used during the mid to late 1800's. Most examples of surviving houses are in the northeast part of the country where it was popularized by the architects and designers of that period. The most recognized feature is the paired or sometimes multiple open gables with decorated vergeboards.
