Tudor style architecture has its roots in England, but is a romantic style of America's early past. Back then only the rich and well to do were able to build these massive and impressive manors due to the expensive building practices of the architectural style. Because technology has advance so much over the centuries, we are able to replicate tudors in its grand stature using more refined and less expensive building practices. Tudor house plans have several sublabels to include Elizabethan, Jacobean, Old English, and Cotswold. However, the varying sublabels shares some common characteristics such as steeply pitch gable roofs, bays of casement windows with paned leaded glass, clustered chimney stacks, and exterior finishes that include brick, stone, half-timber, and stucco. |
